A few weeks ago, Teqa, opened it’s doors to Manhattan’s Murray Hill Neighborhood offering them an unparalleled selection of unique alcohol, a scrumptious celebrity chef, and an interior which embodies old world elegance with modern architectural elements. Knstrct took a moment to stop in for the grand opening of the lounge to take a first hand look at the interior design done by none other than NYC nightlife native, Lesly Zamor.

Surprisingly, at the opening, it was not the famous faces that stood out, but it was the was the entire lounge which was glowing with fire, warm lighting, and candles to guide the atmosphere. From floor to ceiling, the materials are a mixture of raw wood, textured stone, steel, and etched mirror. The most striking feature would most definitely be the custom ceiling chandelier which is constructed of steel and vintage glass jars; stretching throughout the entire lounge, even making it’s way all the way back to the bar.

To give patrons a new experience, Zamor wanted the features in the space to be custom designed including the tables, which are built from wood local to the Guadalajara region of Mexico and accented by brass molding, they are finely carved by expert craftsmen, and a set of three modern fireplaces which are raised 8 feet above the floor for everyone to see. The etched mirrors are scripted with a mixture of eye catching typography which reads the drinks and food menu. Teqa brings a lounge full of wonderful qualities to a high traffic neighborhood which should be a perfect recipe to it’s success.
